Fashion Picks – Stepping out of the comfort zone

“I’ll stop wearing black when they invent a darker color,” is my motto when it comes to clothes. Shoes and bags on the other hand, are a lot easier because you can never have enough fun experimenting with styles and colors.

20140225-122932.jpgStepping out of your comfort zone when it comes to clothes, especially when you are pretty confident with your style, can be at times challenging. I don’t think I’m alone in this, as many designers I love; such as: David Andersen, G Star Raw, and others create a story, and truly paint with black.

These are my fashion picks for “Stepping out of my own comfort zone”, because color is fun and happy. A friend of mine recently returned from a week vacation to India, I couldn’t contain my excitement in talking to her about saris, the abundance of color, and the celebration of life in such a exotic part of the world.

Still, I find it quite difficult to accept anything other then black shades in my wardrobe. Milly’s designs, as seen in the picture, are unique and tempting, because the print is combined with solids and the placement is smart and flattering. I am loving this take on print and color. And, if black could have a smell then it would be called Coco Noir. I would pair Milly’s floral print with this exuberant fragrance from Chanel, because I would most definitely vote against smelling like a bouquet of flowers.

Loreal’s new shades of nail enamel in this ad, seen in the collage I made, are exciting and unexpected. I think I like the ad probably more then the nails, as I found it interesting creatively.

If the clothes make you feel something take a chance and try something you normally wouldn’t.
